Receiptora Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-10-01
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") explain how you may use Receiptora. Receiptora is a receipt app for Canadians. It is operated by Patten Labs ("Patten Labs", "we", "us" or "our").
By creating an account or clicking to accept these Terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Receiptora.
1. Who we are
Patten Labs operates Receiptora. Receiptora is a product of Patten Labs.
Contact: info@patten-labs.com
2. What Receiptora does
Receiptora lets you capture, store, and organize receipts and related records. You can:
- upload, scan, or attach receipt images, PDFs, and other files
- forward receipts to a personal receiving address
- import rows from bank statement files
- keep bills, budgets, subscriptions, vendors, and company workspaces
- invite people to a shared family workspace
- export records, including tax-oriented CSV files
The app uses automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to read documents and suggest dates, amounts, taxes, vendors, categories, payment methods, and similar fields. Those suggestions can be wrong. You are responsible for checking them before you rely on them, including for tax filings or expense claims.
Receiptora is a record-keeping tool. Patten Labs is not an accountant, tax preparer, lawyer, or financial advisor, and nothing in the app is professional advice.
Bill reminders are a courtesy. They may be late or not sent. You remain responsible for paying your bills.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
You can register with an email address and password, or sign in with Google. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in details safe. Email info@patten-labs.com if you think someone else has used your account.
You may delete your account from Settings.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the receipts, files, emails, and records you add.
You give Patten Labs permission to store, process, and display that content as needed to run Receiptora, including sending documents to the services named in the Privacy Policy so the app can extract information.
You must only upload content you have the right to upload.
You should keep your own copies of important records. Receiptora is not a guaranteed archive.
5. Family sharing and email forwarding
If you invite someone to a shared workspace, they can see — and, depending on the access level you set, change — records in that workspace. You are responsible for whom you invite.
If you use a personal receiving address to forward receipts, you are responsible for what is sent to that address.
6. Paid plans
Some features require a paid plan. Payments are processed by Stripe. Checkout creates a Stripe subscription on a recurring yearly price, so the subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled. You can cancel in the billing portal in the app (Manage Billing).
Paid-plan access follows the subscription status Stripe reports. The app treats your plan as Pro while that status is active, trialing, or past due. When Stripe reports another status, including cancelled, the app sets your plan to free.
The app stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and plan status. It does not store your full payment card number.
If you delete your account, the app cancels the Stripe subscription at that time.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Receiptora to break the law, fabricate records, access another person's account, interfere with the service, or upload content you do not have the right to upload.
We may suspend or end access if we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms. Updated versions are posted in the app with a version number. When a new version requires acceptance again, you will need to accept it before you can keep using the signed-in app.
We keep a record of the Terms version you accepted, when you accepted it, and the IP address and browser information sent with that request.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario.
